On January 17th, 2025, we held the final multiplier activity for the FOCUS project in Nova Gradiška. The event marked a significant milestone in the 15-month project, which focused on addressing the challenges posed by fake news and its impact on decision-making, particularly for vulnerable groups such as unemployed citizens and small business owners.
The event was organized by the Public Open Education Center Auto Moto Center Nova Gradiška, with Slavica Štefanac, Education Manager, presenting the outcomes of the project to a group of key stakeholders. These included representatives from the Croatian Chamber of Economy, the City of Nova Gradiška, the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, the Croatian Employment Service, and other supporters who have played a vital role in the project’s success.
Key Achievements Shared During the Multiplier Activity
Throughout the event, the project team shared the major achievements, including:
- Research Findings: Insights into how fake news affects the decision-making processes of small businesses, highlighting the crucial need for media literacy and critical thinking.
- Comprehensive Manual: A guide designed to support adult education in combating fake news, which will serve as a resource for educators and community leaders.
- E-learning Platform: An accessible digital platform launched to facilitate the learning of digital skills, critical thinking, and media literacy, empowering users to recognize and challenge fake news.
The multiplier activity also provided an opportunity to gather feedback from attendees, ensuring that the results of the project are further disseminated and remain useful for future initiatives.
The multiplier activity was a fitting conclusion to the FOCUS project, demonstrating the collective impact of our efforts to empower citizens to make informed decisions and combat misinformation in today’s digital age. We look forward to continuing this work and expanding the reach of the project’s resources.
